How to advertise your property

Introduction

Studentpad and Southampton Solent University offer the most cost effective and simplest method to let your property/ies quickly and easily. Instead of incurring high costs advertising your property through traditional methods and wasting time and money advertising in places where students don't look, let studentpad.co.uk facilitate the process.

Studentpad works very closely with Southampton Solent University  and as such you need to join The Southampton Solent University  Scheme (see below for details) to be able to advertise on the web site. The Southampton Solent University  solely use the studentpad software to advertise your properties. In turn, all of the students are referred to The Southampton Solent University  website and it is therefore very successful for registered landlords.

Property management module

By registering you will also be able to utilise a number of features which will help you in your day to day tasks, free of charge. These functions include the ability to allow you to manage your maintenance works, send automatic rent reminders to students and remind yourself when gas certificates are due. New features including contract management, online fault reporting and key management will be available soon.

Photographs

Although not compulsory, photographs do make a huge difference to your advert. This is what one of our customers commented; "many people remarked on the photographs, saying how helpful it was to be able to see photos. Perhaps you could encourage landlords to enclose photos - it's certainly to their advantage"

Scale of charges
HMO Licence Fees with effect from 1st April 2010

The HMO licence fees have recently been reviewed, consulted on, and a new fee structure for 2010/11 agreed. This comes into force on 1st April 2010. Any applications for newly licensable properties made on or after 1st April 2010 will pay the new fees. Applications made before 1st April 2010 will pay the 2009/10 licence fees.

Background

Following representation from local landlords, the council has revised the way in which HMO licence fees are calculated and has used a national template developed by the Local Government Association (LGA). This is a more transparent and consistent way of calculating the fees. The proposed fees were subject to public consultation and comments received have been taken into consideration in developing the final structure and policy.

Fees

The revised fee structure consists of 3 fee bands, as follows:
